Abstract
This research aims to explore the role of tourism in social development. Does tourism have social benefits for the local community? Does it contribute to raising community awareness? That is, does tourism have positive social effects in fostering a sense of belonging and pride in one's homeland and heritage? Accordingly, to achieve the research objectives, the researcher identified the following problematic question: To what extent did tourism play a role in social development within the Kurdistan Region? This means that this problematic includes several questions. This study is considered one of the descriptive analytical studies that used the inductive approach based on previous studies, research and literature, in addition to the social survey approach with a sample of (50) out of (100) tourism companies that participated in the Erbil International Fair on March 6-8, 2025 in the capital, Erbil. The researcher also used a questionnaire form consisting of (15) questions according to the following: (5) questions about the company’s general data and (10) questions related to the role of tourism in social development. Later, the researcher reached a set of conclusions, the most important of which was that: Tourism has a role in changing the infrastructure and superstructure of society. Therefore, in conclusion: The researcher recommended activating greater interest in tourism in the region. Kurdistan: It not only leads to social development, but also—the more attention is paid to its development—has a positive impact on other types of development, ultimately sustainable development.

يهدف هذا البحث إلى معرفة مدى دور السّياحة في التّنمية الاجتماعيّة، وهل للسّياحة من فوائد إجتماعيّة للمجتمع المحلي؟ وهل تسهم السّياحة في زيادة الوعي المجتمعي؟ أي : هل للسّياحة آثارها الاجتماعيّة الإيجايّة في تنمية الشعور بالانتماء والاعتزاز بالوطن وتراثه؟
بناءً عليه، ولتحقيق أهداف البحث، حدّدت الباحثة السؤال الإشكالي التالي: إلى أيّ مدى لعبت السّياحة دورًا في التّنمية الاجتماعيّة ضمن إقليم كوردستان؟" ما يعني أنّ هذه الإشكاليّة تتضمّن تساؤلات عدة .. تُعتبر هذه الدراسة من الدراسات الوصفيّة التّحليليّة والتي استخدمت المنهج الاستقرائي بالاعتماد على الدراسات والأبحاث والأدبيّات السّابقة، إضافة إلى منهج المسح الاجتماعي بالعينة الباالغ عددها (50) من أصل (100) شركة سياحيّة شاركت في معرض أربيل الدولي بتاريخ 6-8 مارس 2025 في العاصمة أربيل؛ كما واستعانت الباحثة باستمارة الاستبيان المكونة من (15) سؤال تبعًا للتالي : (5) أسئلة حول البيانات العامة للشركة و (10) أسئلة خاصة بدور السّياحة في التّنمية الاجتماعيّة..لاحقًا، توصلت الباحثة إلى مجموعة استنتاجات كان من أهمها أنّ: للسّياحة دورها في تغير البنيتين التحتيّة والفوقيّة للمجتمع؛. لذلك، وفي الختام: أوصت الباحثة بتفعيل اهتمام أكبر بالسّياحة في إقليم كوردستان: إذ إنّها لا تؤدّي إلى التّنمية الاجتماعيّة فحسب بل وتؤثر إيجابًا أيضًا- كلّما ارتفع مستوى الاهتمام بتنميتها- على بقية أنواع التّنمية وبالنهاية التّنمية المستدامة.
