Abstract
This academic study evaluates the influence of natural factors on the spatial distribution of 167 archaeological sites in the Garmian Administration using descriptive-analytical methodology and Geographic Information System (GIS) techniques. The research area encompasses the districts of Kalar, Kifri, and the Maydan and Quratoo sub-districts of Khanaqin district, covering a total area of 6005.5 km². The study aims to determine which natural factors played the primary role in archaeological site location selection and to analyze their distribution patterns.
The results revealed that proximity to water sources was the most influential factor, with 81.5% of archaeological sites located near water resources. However, 74.8% of these sites are situated in areas of low to very low water source density, reducing flood risk exposure. Additionally, 80.3% of sites are located at low to medium elevations ranging between 127-468 meters, and 75.4% are positioned in plain regions.
Most archaeological sites were oriented toward northern and eastern slopes, representing an adaptation to Garmian's hot summer conditions. The vast majority (86.8%) are located on flat or gently sloping terrain. In terms of soil quality, 84.5% of sites are situated on fertile soil suitable for agriculture, and 53.9% are located within agricultural land areas. Regarding temperature, 73.1% of the sites are positioned in areas with moderate average temperatures ranging from 21.9-23.6°C.
These findings highlight the significant relationship between human settlement patterns and the natural environment throughout the civilization history of the region, demonstrating how environmental factors influenced historical settlement decisions in the Garmian area.

ئەم توێژینەوەیە هەڵسەنگاندنی كاریگەریی فاكتەرە سروشتییەكان لەسەر دابەشبوونی شوێنجێی 167 شوێنەواری مێژوویی لە ئیدارەی گەرمیان دەكات. بە ڕێگای وەسفی-شیكاری و بە تەكنیكی سیستمی زانیارییە جوگرافییەكان. سنووری توێژینەوەكە قەزاكانی كەلار، كفری و ناحیەكانی مەیدان و قۆرەتووی لە قەزای خانەقین گرتووەتەوە، بە ڕووبەری گشتی 6005.5 كم². توێژینەوەكە هەوڵی داوە وەڵامی ئەو پرسیارە بدۆزێتەوە كە كام فاكتەری سروشتی ڕۆڵی سەرەكی لە دیاریكردنی شوێنی شوێنەوارەكاندا هەیە و شێوازی دابەشبوونیان چۆنە.
ئەنجامەكان دەریخست كە 81.5% شوێنەوارەكان لە نزیكی سەرچاوە ئاوییەكان هەڵكەوتوون كە كاریگەرترین فاكتەرە، بەڵام 74.8% یان لە هەرێمی چڕی كەم و چڕی زۆر كەمی سەرچاوە ئاوییەكاندان دوور لە مەترسی لافاو. هەروەها 80.3% شوێنەوارەكان لە بەرزی كەم و مامناوەندی نێوان 127-468م هەڵكەوتوون و 75.4% یان لە هەرێمی دەشتاییەكانن. زۆربەی شوێنەوارەكان بە ئاراستەی لێژی باكوور و خۆرهەڵات هەڵكەوتوون وەكو گونجاندن لەگەڵ دۆخی هاوینەی گەرمیان و زۆربەیان 86.8% لە ناوچەی تەخت و كەم لێژەكانن. 84.5% لە خاكی بەپیتی گونجاو بۆ كشتوكاڵ هەڵكەوتوون و 53.9% یان لە ناوچەی زەوییە كشتوكاڵییەكاندان. بەگوێرەی پلەی گەرمی 73.1% شوێنەوارەكان شوێنجێیان لە ناوچەی پلەی گەرمی مامناوەندە 21.9-23.6س، ئەم دۆزینەوانە گرنگیی تێگەیشتن لە پەیوەندیی نێوان مرۆڤ و ژینگەی سروشتی لە مێژووی شارستانیەتی ناوچەكەدا دەردەخەن.
